a COZY COWBOY CHIC wedding in vail colorado – part III
Loving these rustic chic details.
Notes from the Bride & Groom {Jessica & TJ}: First were the horse shoe name tags which were simple, but also something fun guests loved taking home for good luck. Next up was what we hung the name tags on- which is a really easy way to create a name tag holder of any type. We picked up an old nasty closet door at our local resource yard for $10, I sanded it down, took out all of the slats up top, staple gunned in some chicken wire, painted and distressed in green- and viola- a fun way to hang the horse shoes.
Next thing was that Room 4 Dessert sign when I’ve seen lots of iterations around lately. I think almost easier and certainly cheaper than some of the ones I’ve seen on Etsy. But it was super simple to cut the burlap, spray paint the letters on via stencil, add some glitter, and sew a string up top to hang.
Another easy one we did was around the lounge area we made a pseudo wall to bring the space in (that barn was HUGE) via hanging 3 old doors that I had bought for a few bucks at the resource yard and distressed- then broke the glass/screen part of the top, tied some string across and clothes-pinned on photos of friends and family for people to take a look at while they were grabbing a drink.
I’d say the evening was pretty dominated by dancing, which was what we had hoped for. It was super fun to use the quilt as a backdrop for the photo booth- and per usual people can’t get enough of the photo booth! I think when I looked around there were only a handful of people sitting, and most people danced with us into the wee hours of the night. Lastly, although it may sound cheesy the other highlight for other guests and myself was riding the bull- which is in fact pretty impossible and made me glad I had my cowboy boots on!
