The 1920s was an era of decadence: fashion became more daring and exciting, people became much more prosperous, and of course plenty of cocktails were invented that we still enjoy drinking to this day! There are plenty of things you can do if you want your wedding to echo this era. Watch The Great Gatsby to be inspired for your art deco decorations. The colors black and gold are timeless, bold and elegant and you can add sequins, beads and feathers for a little sparkle. Although the 1920s were the decade of Prohibition, splash out on the cocktails, from moonshine to whisky sours to martinis and dont forget the champagne! Dance to some jazz music and make sure you dazzle your guests in a drop-waisted column dress and plenty of glittering jewelry. Just a hint your new sparkling wedding and diamond engagement rings will go perfectlySteampunk

So what exactly is steampunk? Harkening back to the Victorian era, steampunk is a type of science fiction fashion thats a huge protest against modern technology and is instead inspired by the aesthetics of steam powered machinery. For example, imagine a computer kitted out to look like an old typewriter. Look into Victorian fashion for your wedding dress think lots of lace, a full skirt, and a fitted bodice with a nipped in waist, while your groom shouldnt forget his pocket watch and top hat. Use vintage finds like floral teacups, old keys and anything copper-colored for decoration, along with Victorian silhouette art. Think shabby chic, think dark colors updated with sequins and lace, think metallic and youll be on the right path.
