Q & A with the bride and groom:
How did you meet?
We met in high school art class when we were 16 and 17. I had just transferred to the school as a junior, and Caleb was a senior. We enjoyed joking around and making art together and quickly became friends. It took another three years before we began dating, and when we did, Caleb knew he wanted to marry me early on.
Why did you choose to elope?
There were many reasons we decided to elope. We wanted affordability, especially as college students, and we got that. We are both introverted people and knew we'd prefer a small, more intimate ceremony to be comfortable. Lastly, with the COVID-19 pandemic and being immunocompromised with other high-risk family members, we needed to be safe, which we arranged with Simply Eloped!
How did you choose your elopement location?
We both love nature and made beautiful memories together in Colorado while visiting my older sister who lives in there. Caleb proposed to me on the mountain near Echo Lake, and it began to snow when he did. We knew we also wanted to get married in the mountains, and since we wanted a small ceremony, we knew this was possible. We looked at the available options and chose the Golden Forrest property. This location was perfect with the aspens and mountain view beyond the stack of logs. Like the proposal, the ceremony, view, and location were magical.
