Kristen and Sven Nelson both share the love for the Colorado Rockies and couldn't fathom celebrating and sharing their wedding day with family and friends anywhere other than the stunning mountains. Of course there's four pronounced seasons to choose from, but fall has always been the most stunning time of year with the leaves turning and unpredictable weather. Fortunately on September 18, 2015,the sun was shinning like a spring afternoon and the sky's were as clear as can be. We choose to ride the Eagle Bahn gondola with our supportive bridal parties separately to the top of the mountain to reach the Vail wedding deck for their first look. Sven went first to have his back turned for Kristen to walk down the long pathway to the edge of the wedding deck. It was the most intimate location and meaningful location we could have choose. Looking out in front of us was nothing but miles of Rocky Mountains that could make you feel as if you're on the top of the world. After the first look we had our bridal parties join us for unique and fun group photos before heading down to the ceremony our guest were waiting with anticipation. The ceremony took place at the Vail Chapel with 100 of our closet family and friends. After the ceremony we thoroughly enjoyed a bubble exit that has us waiting our ceremony exit video over and over again with joy! Shuttles began to gather guest and the transport them to The Arrabelle Hotel to enjoy cocktail hour with views of the Vail slopes from the Great Room. Hordourves and cocktails were enjoyed before guest were escorted to the Arrabelle Ballroom for the wedding reception. We shared so many intimate moments with our guest and each other, this day will never be forgotten. Our favorite moment of the day was the first look at the top of the mountain. Favorite dcor was framed photos of all of our parents and grandparents centered in the reception with votive candles surrounding them. Our advise for planning a Colorado Wedding, is don't have your mind set on 1 specific weather no matter what season it is. Be open minded, and have a plan B for weather if you are planning anything outside.
