Mike Novelli started Rising Moon in 2007, and his wife Summer joined in 2009. Mike brings a modern, fun and fresh approach to filming weddings. He worked with several other videography companies and just couldn’t wait to open up his own business to bring his new style to the industry. Mike’s unique style and approach to wedding videography quickly caught on. Mike loves what he does and it shows in the quality of work he produces time and time again. We, at COUTUREcolorado, are very honored to have him as a LIST member.
I love meeting wedding professionals that are passionate about their work outside of weddings. Mike has won awards for his documentary work:
“Killing in the Name Of?” documentary (2005):
-Auburn Film Society COVA (Certificate of Outstanding Videomaking Award) 2005
-1st place at Reality Bytes Film Festival, Best of Social Issue Genre 2005
-1st place at Spindletop Film Festival, Best College Documentary Film 2005
“Ride at Your Own Risk” documentary film (2006):
-1st place at Spindletop Film Festival, Best College Documentary 2006
-“Best of Festival” at Reality Bytes Film Festival 2006
-1st place at Reality Bytes Film Festival, Best of Social Issue Genre 2006
-Official selection at Door County Student Film Festival 2006
-Offical selection at FilmGate International Student Film Festival 2006
And he is just as accomplished as a wedding videographer:
Aegis Video & Film Production Award in 2009 for Mike and Rosa’s highlight film from their January 2, 2009 wedding in Phoenix Arizona.
Rising Moon won ‘top 5 videographer’ on the Denver A-List in 2008 and 2009. Mike was also selected on Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book.
Mike grew up in Western Mass, and moved to the Chicago suburbs the day after graduating high school. He lived in the Chicago area for 8 years before moving out to Colorado. He and his wife were looking for a slower pace of life and change of scenery and moved to Denver in 2007.
Here are a couple of wedding trailers. Enjoy!
