As summer draws to a close, Telluride is gearing up for �Gold Season,� the Rocky Mountains� vibrant display of shimmering yellow, orange and gold aspen trees, causing a barrage of beauty and color. This fall, guests can stay an extra day to enjoy Telluride�s spectacular scenery and sensational festivals with the �Free Fall Specials�, which offer a third or fourth night free at participating hotels, including the Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge, the Hotel Columbia, and the Mountain Lodge Telluride. Offered from September 19-October 31, 2016, the �Free Fall� promotion gives guests the opportunity to enjoy Telluride�s stunning views and colorful foliage in the San Juan Mountains. The Telluride Film Festival, a prelude to Hollywood�s award season, celebrates the art of cinema September 2-5 with a wide variety of the season�s hottest new films. Academy Award winning movies such as Juno, A King�s Speech, Slumdog Millionaire, and many more premiered in Telluride. Blues & Brews hosts over 25 bands featuring Joe Walsh, Mick Fleetwood, and Gary Clark Jr, over 50 breweries from around the country, and over 150 different beers September 16-18. From September 29-30, the Telluride Festival of Cars and Colors showcases some of the world�s finest automobiles, while Neil Young + Promise of the Real Earth playTelluride over the same weekend. Getting to Telluride is easier than ever this fall as well. American Airlines flies daily direct from Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) to the Telluride Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) through October 5.
