Styling a shoot for a little girl can be a dangerous prospect. Pile on too many tutus, tiaras, hair bows, and extraneous pink glitterati... and it looks a bit like a pageant exploded. When going girly for your theme, I think there are two factors to include that takes it from suburban to sublime: sophistication and whimsy. This shoot nails both. The antique books, globe, and gorgeous grown-up chair look like they've come out of an english manor, while the to-die-for floral wreaths as crowns, and the pinecones-as-cookies, lend an element of pretend play.

From stylist Nicole of Worthwhile Style:
I absolutely LOVE creating styled photo shoots for kids. Being able to create a set to spark imagination and wonder is pure joy. This shoot was inspired by the idea of the "secret garden" - full of found objects and pretty little things that speak to the creativity that lives in the heart of every child.
Jeanine Thurston of Fototales approached me about doing a styled "tutu" shoot featuring tutus from Kimber Cyr. I loved playing dress up as a kid, and truly this was right out of my own childhood imagination. I love creating mini sets that allow kids to simply be themselves; I have always been drawn to the candid shots that this brings out.
