Q&A with the Bride and Groom, Cassidy and Connor:
How did you meet?
The couple met halfway through college after being introduced by mutual friends. They knew they were made for each other when they agreed to jump into a freezing cold pool together in the middle of winter to avoid losing a dare.
What is your proposal story?
The groom proposed to the bride on a surprise trip to Aruba. The sun was just setting on the beach when the groom got down on one knee and the couple then proceeded to celebrated their enablement with family on a sunset cruise.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
The vision for this mountain wedding was a contrast of bright whites and a pop of deep forest greens. As Colorado natives, The couple wanted to capture the beauty of the mountain landscape for their backdrop and bring the outdoors inside through rustic decorations throughout the reception.
Tell us about your attire choices.
The couple decided on simple, elegant attire for the wedding to focus attention on the beauty of the scenery. The bride fell in love with the first dress she saw at the Bridal Collection, a fitted lace gown designed by Martina Liana.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
The three most important parts of the wedding for the bride and groom were the venue, guest list, and menu. The Woodlands venue in Morrison encompassed the natural beauty of Colorado and accommodated the guests that are most important in their lives. All Love Catering catered to the couples vegan diet with ease.
What were your favorite parts of the day? (memories and stories)
The couple's favorite memory is seeing each other for the first time when the barn doors opened. They also loved watching all of the guests partake in group dances on the dance floor.
Tell us about your wedding flowers.
Floral arrangement for the wedding included white roses, baby’s breath, and an assortment of leaves.
Tell us about your wedding cake.
The wedding cake featured three tiers of lemon poppyseed, raspberry poppyseed, and carrot layers created by Huckleberry Bakery.
Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.
All signs were customized by the bride's sister. The couple asked guests to write a personal note and sign a mural that they now have hanging in their house to remind them of all of the incredible people in their lives who were a part of their big day
Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?
The brides father wrote and recorded an original song for the couple that was played while the bride and her father walked down the isle.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Pick 2-3 aspects of the wedding that are the most important. It can be overwhelming to meet the desires of everyone involved in the planning process and this ensures that the couple does not lose sight of what is important to them
