Notes from the bride, Hollie:
My parents created multiple DIY items for our wedding. I originally saw a seating chart, arch and welcome sign on Pinterest that I adored. When I showed my mom the photos, she instantly said, "I can totally do that!" And she didn't stop there. Our corn hole game, welcome boxes for our guests staying at the hotel, seating chart, arch and welcome signs were 100% DIY. I'm lucky to have such artistic parents!
Although planning was an exciting and special time, I'm happy to report that being actually married is SO much better than the actual wedding, which can be really stressful! I have a lot of reflections on what I learned about weddings throughout the planning process, but if I could pass on any real advice to a bride-to-be, I would suggest to simply not skimp on any parts that are really important to you. If you are on a budget and you care the most about your dress, flowers, decor, food, entertainment, etc... then it's ok to spend less on other things so you can spare no expense on the things you love the most!

Our wedding stands out simply because it was planned in 4 months! We love the summer in the Vail Valley and think August is the best month of the whole year. Once we toured The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera's "Overlook Lawn," we immediately committed to a date... that was 60 days away!
From the moment I started planning our wedding, I wanted the theme to be natural, whimsical and reflective of the beauty of the surrounding mountains in Cordillera. To evoke that theme, I first chose ivory, taupe and pine green as our color scheme. We also had a lot of gold that added a touch of subdued glam in a romantic, fairy tale kind of way. My dress and flowers also reflected that whimsical mountain romanticism; the tulle in my wedding dress with its taupe ribbon, the bridesmaid's baby's breath bouquets and the large amount of greenery I used on our wedding arch, welcome signs and center pieces brought in that organic, natural vibe.
