Q & A with Bride and Groom

How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.

We met in 2012 after a Rockies Baseball game in a pub called Giggling Grizzly.. our eyes locked and he came over and we talked for hours. We went on our first date the next day. And our second the next day.  And we’ve been together ever since!!

Tell us about your wedding.

Our wedding day inspiration was based around romance and magic... that feeling when you are falling in love, the excitement, the glow, the warmth, the goosebumps.. and magic.. as in Harry Potter. The brides favorite books and boarderline unhealthy obsession.. I have been to the studios in London where the movies were filmed 3 times, and Harry Potter World in Florida, read the books and watch the movies hundreds of times, and is a proud member of Hufflepuff!! We wanted our day to be us.. romantic and magical..

How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception?

Our venue was magical.. wooden ballroom, the floor to ceiling windows, the gorgeous fireplace. The space is spectacular all by itself, so we didn’t want to “decorate” the ballroom, but compliment it. The University Club has the crests of the founding member’s Universities/Colleges on the windows. Our alma mater is on the windows, CU Boulder. That was very special. When the sunlight come through the color glass from the different crests, it’s makes the room sparkle.

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?

Do not dream of a “perfect” wedding day. Dream of a wonderful wedding day. Things may go wrong... for example, my grandparents forgot to walk down the aisle in the procession.. and the DJ played the wrong song during the procession.. and I stood on the dance floor alone for the first few 8 counts of our first dance because Jason forgot it was dance time!!!! Lol there’s actually a photo of me with my arms crossed looking scolding at him and it’s hilarious... the whole room laughed!!
