Note from the Bride and Groom, Alessa and Eric Blackwell:
How did you meet? We met in college while working at the catering company at CU Boulder but remained friends until after college. We are proud Buff alums and enjoy spending time in Boulder for football games, checking out new restaurants or exercising when we can!
What was your favorite moment of the day? Our ceremony. We spent many hours with our officiant, Lisa, and also met with Alessa's Greek Orthodox Priest several times over the planning year to discuss our ceremony and future as Mr. and Mrs. We incorporated elements/traditions from the Greek Orthodox Christian and Jewish religions, including the wine common cup and the breaking of the glass. The ceremony was very unique to us and our families, and something we will cherish forever.
Favorite decor? The background! The rooftop terrace had a view of the flatirons that is like nothing else we had ever seen. And being on our home campus in Boulder and football stadium to get married and celebrate with everyone was incredible. -Our theme was black and gold (more CU themed) and coral accents. The ring bearer even had a ralphie stuffed animal to carry the "rings". The reception was Kate Spade inspired with decor that included black and white stripes and gold touches. All of the bridal party had Kate Spade clutches, and Alessa had Kate Spade gold sequin shoes.
Any advice to those planning a Colorado Wedding? If you know of a location you would love to get married at (or even the exact spot), don't hesitate to contact the venue right away! Many places book up a year in advance or more.
