Notes from the bride, Christine:
Right away we knew we wanted a mountain wedding. Our first date was in the mountains, he proposed in the mountains, and many of our favorite memories together are in the mountains. We wanted to share our big day with the people we love in a place that we love. Winter Park was a no-brainer since it has been my family's home mountain and Drew quickly adopted it. Plus everyone had the opportunity to ride the Zephyr ski lift up to the venue which is pretty fun!Next up to figure out was the feel. We had been to the Lodge at Sunspot many times before during ski season and we loved the natural feel of the venue. We ran with what was there and tried to keep the decorations to a minimum to not overpower the wonderful details of the venue itself such as the beautiful mountain backdrops off of the porch and through the windows, the flowers nicely kept on the decks, and even the fun, historic mural featuring Fraser Iceberg Lettuce. My mom made all of the decorations inspired by nature and the ski resort with a rustic flair. We had log discs on each table felled and cut by a local man in Tabernash, ski run themed tables and seating charts named after ski runs around Winter Park and Mary Jane, and all sizes of glass bottles filled with candles, succulents, and baby's breath. When it was all said and done, everything turned out the way we wanted. Our mountain wedding was everything we wanted and more. It was such a wonderful day full of friends, family, love, and laughter surrounded by the beautiful mountains that we call home.
