Q&A with Bride and Groom:
How did you meet?
We met on Tinder!
What is your proposal story?
Very uneventful. We're not exactly the most, romantic fairy tale couple. We decided to design our rings together with family stones. My engagement ring had two diamonds from a pair of earrings that belonged to my grandmother and a diamond that has been in his family for generations. Once we found out the ring was ready, he proposed that night while we were walking to dinner in Boulder. We had a reservation at a fancy restaurant for date night, but decided to cancel the reservation, pickup some pizza, and spend the evening at home with our puppy instead.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
Our wedding celebration was all about the venue. Black Mountain Lodge at Arapahoe Basin is an incredible lodge with lots of windows to show-off the incredible scenery. Our goal for decor and style was to make decisions that compliment the mountain scenery. We chose neutral colors - green, brown, and white. Our center pieces were wooden candles, greenery, and pine cones to bring the mountain atmosphere inside.
Tell us about your attire choices.
I wanted a simple white dress that was comfortable and easy to dance in! He choose a dark green suit to match the overall mountain theme. We told our bridesmaids and groomsmen to wear whatever they wanted. They're the ones who decided to actually match a little bit. The bridesmaids chose to all wear floral dresses and the groomsmen wore floral ties that were similar to the groom's tie.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
The most important decision was the venue. The chairlift ride and beautiful views were unbeatable. We skipped flowers.
What were your favorite parts of the day? (memories and stories)
The chairlift ride! And the oxygen bar! The cake was also pretty magical. And we could not have asked for better weather.
Tell us about your wedding cake.
Salted caramel cake with chocolate filling. :) It was perfect.
What did you do for favors?
Green chile breakfast burritos from Santa Fe, New Mexico! My family is from Santa Fe and breakfast burritos are worshiped in our world. We bought 120 breakfast burritos, froze them, and then drove them across state lines. They were such a hit!!
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
This is YOUR wedding, so plan it however YOU want!
