Q & A with Bride and Groom (Peyton and Caleb):
How did you meet?
We met by both working in the Air Force at FE Warren AFB.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
We live in Cheyenne, Wyoming. However I am originally from California and Caleb Indiana. We wanted somewhere beautiful and rustic with a barn and outdoor ceremony with mountain scenery. We chose Colorado Springs at Younger ranch because it fit everything we pictured. Colorado Springs also made it sort of in the middle between California and Indiana so we weren’t favoring one of our families over the other. Purple was our color but more of a grey rustic purple that would go well with wildflowers and the scenery around us.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
The most important thing to us while planning was making sure the day reflected our love for each other as well as becoming a family with Braelynn. We wanted it to be the best day of our lives and for all of our family to enjoy it just as much as we did. We chose to splurge on video and photography because the memories will be cherished forever. There may be a few things we skipped because we were trying to budget small, however I don’t recall what we skipped because the day was perfect without.
Tell us about your wedding flowers.
We had wildflowers with hints of purple.
Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.
We tried to diy as much as we could. The seating chart, the putting together of favors, the photo booth backdrop, and all signs were made by us. Some very personal details were Peyton’s bracelet. Her father gave it to her as her something blue before they walked down the aisle. The most important detail to Peyton was her bouquet charm. It was the wedding photo of her great grandpa and great grandma.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
No matter how selfish it may feel, make this day about you, the couple. It’s your day and no one else’s.
Soak it all in because it goes by in the blink of an eye.!
Let go and move on if something little doesn’t go as planned, it’ll be perfect no matter what!
Pay for that photographer you want and videographer, you’ll cherish it forever.
Have a few minutes alone just bride and groom to soak in the fact that you just got married! And eat while you’re spending that short time together because you won’t get time to eat later.
Have the time of your life!
