Notes from the bride, Taylor:
Dylan and I stared at a map searching for somewhere other than Dallas to get married. We love home, but wanted more of an adventure and vacation for our nuptials. Since our engagement we were locked into 6 warm weather weddings, Mexico, Nola, Austin, San Diego, The Ozarks, and the Virginia Allegheny Mountains! (Craziness) We were tired of sweating already and started dreaming of the mountains. Dylan had previously lived in Jackson Hole, WY and longed for powder turns each winter. I thought to myself what better backdrop for a bride than the snow covered mountains of Colorado. That day he got home and I asked him if we wanted to get married on the top of a mountain? His face immediately lit up with excitement. We were all in! On a quick weekend trip down I-70 outside of Denver we stopped at resort after resort looking for the perfect spot that jumped out at us. We found our dream at The Lodge at Sunspot in Winter Park, CO. The quaint village at Winter Park Resort was intimate and peaceful, the perfect setting to make our guest feel special and my winter wedding dream to come true..and WP Mountain was gnarly enough to get Dylan his fix! Our vision started taking shape right away. We wanted a rustic natural wedding surrounded by the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains while our guest felt like they were on a relaxing ski vacation with friends.
