Notes from the bride and groom, Molly and Joe:
How/why did you choose this venue? Why is it special to you?
We knew we wanted to be married in the mountains and the Aspen Chapel stood out as such a beautiful landmark in a place we truly loved spending time. As we learned more about the Chapel and got to know the community, we knew it was a perfect fit to represent our commitment. We wanted our guests to be able to enjoy the town of Aspen and its amazing natural beauty it was important to us to have a reception site that provided a rustic Colorado backdrop but kept everyone close to town. We immediately fell in love with the Museum and all the history it represented. The mining site has evolved and played a lot of different roles in the towns history over the years - we felt it was a meaningful metaphor for how a marriage evolves and must take different shapes as you grow together.
Tell us all about your wedding daywhat were the most meaningful moments; what are your best memories; what did it feel like?
It was so incredible to have all our friends and family together in a place that is so special to us, half the fun was being able to share Aspen with everyone. As we made the beautiful walk from the Chapel to the Museum, we emerged from the Aspen Grove to look upon all our friends and family enjoying one another on a beautiful fall day, listening to great live bluegrass music. It was truly an incredible moment to take in. Joe looked up to find a mountain goat looking down on us, which was a rare and meaningful discovery. Everything about the day was so beyond our wildest expectations; we were so appreciative of all the work our vendors put in and felt like it was truly a representation of who we are as a couple, right down to the pheasant feathers (that Joe and his family had hunted) in the floral arrangements and the east coast seafood representation on the raw bar. We loved having a family style dinner to be able to enjoy lots of different food and get people interacting at long farm tables. We had everyone dancing the night away and hope to have a marriage that is as fun and beautiful as the day was.
Tell us all about your love story! How did you meet? How did he propose?
We met working together for a company in Boston at that time, Joe was located in Denver and I was living in Boston. What started as a friendship turned into more and I was lucky enough to be able to follow the mountains (and Joe) to Colorado. Joe proposed in Boston overlooking the city and the office building where we met. We were lucky enough to be able to share the weekend with lots of friends and family, which made it truly special.Anything else youd like to share? We worked with incredible people throughout the process, which made it all so enjoyable. It was so meaningful to us to be able to not just enjoy the day but also truly enjoy the whole process.
