From the Bride & Groom, Kaci + Joel:
Our Story:
We met at our CrossFit gym (shout out to CrossFit Vantage!). At the time I was coaching and Joel was a member. Coach-member dating wasn’t exactly encouraged, so after a few secret dates we decided to just be friends. Over the course of six months we continued to hang out and our friendship grew closer. Finally, one day in June we decided to go all in. Joel whisked me away on a whirlwind weekend trip to New York a few days later and the rest is history!
Wedding Vibes:
We didn’t exactly have a clear vision of what we wanted, we had more of a feeling we wanted to evoke - love, happiness and lots of dancing. We wanted to keep things simple. I had some colors in mind and there were a few things we knew we definitely wanted (a lounge, french macarons, a donut wall and lots of flowers). Other than that, things just fell into place during the planning process. We were definitely more focused on the dancing part of the night! We danced to an N’SYNC song for the recessional and did some country swing dancing during our first dance. The whole day was filled with laughter, happy tears, lots of love and of course dancing. Skylight was a perfect venue for what we wanted and Jill was SO helpful and fantastic to work with the whole time!
Personal Touches:
Joel and I had been talking about getting tattoos for a long time and wanted to make sure whatever we picked was lasting and meant something to both of us. A few months before the wedding we went to Think Tank Tattoo and made it official. We got matching tattoo in the same spot (left forearm to go along with the rings we would wear on our left hands). The tattoos say “today, tomorrow & everyday”. It’s a promise and a constant reminder of the commitment we made and our love for each other. It’s simultaneously simple and powerful.
I also had custom earrings made from my favorite jewelry designer, Loren Hope. They designed a special pair for me and then 5 matching pairs for my bridesmaids and they were stunning! It was such fun process from start to finish. I really wanted a special and somewhat different gift for my bridesmaids and custom earrings fit the bill.
Dress:
My dress is from A & Be Bridal Shop and the designer is Truvelle. It was the perfect dress for me! Two words: sequin dipped
