Kara of Love This Day Events {LISTmember} did a fabulous job combining the couple's Southern roots into their Colorado ranch wedding. With the amazing photographs by Jamee Photography {LISTmember}, this wedding is simply perfection.
Notes from the Bride:
How did you two meet?
Mike and I met in medical school in North Carolina after each of our best friends started dating each other. We were two years apart in school and not long into our relationship, he matched in Salt Lake City for residency. After a few years of countless cross country flights and long distance phone calls I joined him out here and the rest is history!
Describe your Wedding Theme:
We both love the mountains and also wanted to incorporate our Southern roots into the day. To use Kara's words, we blended southern chic and western flair!
Favorite Wedding Detail:
Mike's brother owns a cidery in Virginia and he kindly sent us a case of Potter's Craft Cider so we could use the bottles as our table numbers (and indulge in the delicious brew!). Each held one of the most beautiful garden roses I've ever laid eyes on. Kara and Rachel outdid themselves with our flowers!
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
Our ceremony. A storm had just passed through so the whole valley was tranquil and filled with vibrant colors. A dear friend led us through our vows, we were surrounded by our closest friends and family, and as we walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, the clouds broke and a rainbow emerged! We couldn't have written a better fairy tale.
Advice to a couple planning their Colorado wedding:
Don't sweat the small stuff! If certain details don't work out exactly as planned, chances are no one but you will notice. Also, a good photographer/videographer is a must. Our wedding day went by in a blur, and we are so grateful to have all of the memories and emotions preserved for a lifetime. That is the ultimate wedding gift!
