The proposal story by the groom:
The morning of......After arriving at the Nordic Center, we were promptly fitted with all of our snowshoeing gear and shown a trail map including their "recommended" route which I had strategically plotted out the day prior. Sarah (the photographer) came over to us as we were cinching our snowshoes on and said she was taking pictures for the Nordic Center's website.
After reaching the pinnacle location that I had picked out, I still hadn't decided exactly how I was going to get the box out of my pocket. I had previously tossed around an idea of reaching down among a group of trees and pretending as though I had pulled a random tree stump out from the woods, then would flip it over to reveal our initials. But how was I going to get back to the trees now that we had reached our spot? The light bulb instantly went off in my head..I have to fake going to pee. So off I went to the closest group of pines, miraculously appearing back within 10 seconds, showing Natalie the bottom of the ring box I had designed. "Look, this will match our drink coasters", I proclaimed. As I flipped it over to reveal our initials, I saw Natalie's smile beginning to grow...."
