From the vintage yellow cab to the creative lettuce centerpieces to the art-inspired venue, this Denver wedding simply rocked! Q&A with Sarah, the bride: How did you meet? We met on a dance floor. Sarah was there with a date that wouldnt dance with her, and adam stepped in. We did a killer move where we linked arms back to back and then the person in the air would kick their feet high. It was instant trust, and a whole lot of fun. The other guy didnt last... Tell me about your wedding? Our wedding was classic, and true, and adventurous. We worked with our dear friends at SunnySideUp urban farm to grow all of our flowers. It was an amazing way to pull in values we cared about and include some of the most important people in our lives. We decided to opt for a non-traditional set-up and had a spiral, instead of an aisle. So instead of walking down an aisle we walked past everyone, through the spiral. On our first date (after the dancing) we painted the chorus of Jos Mercs rendition of Louie Armstrongs "What a Wonderful World" on Sarahs bedroom wall in big cursive letters. So as we came down the spiral, all of our guests sang (in English), What a Wonderful World. We did modern and personal takes on Jewish Tradition (Sarahs background), wrote our own vows, wrote our own Ketubah, had a Chuppah made from Sarahs 107 year old great-aunts table cloth, and finished it off with a good ol fashioned, stomping on the glass and a cheer of Mazel Tov! A childhood friend of Adams lent us her sweet old Yellow Checker cab, so after the ceremony we took off for a quick spin just the two of us. We contemplated taking off for a road trip, but instead opted to come back and celebrate with the people we love most in the world. Then, a round of photos with our two sisters and two dear friends in the cab, and in our home. We love a local organization called Growhaus, they work with food justice and grow hydroponic lettuce. So we worked with them to grow our centerpieces. Lettuce lined the tables and our guests had scissors to cut their own salad. The DJ spun Sarahs grandpa's recordsold Jazz classics and Soul. We had an absolutely rocking Horah, a traditional Jewish dance where the bride and groom are hoisted in the air on chairs while the guests do a circle dance around. It got rowdy We were surrounded by the people we love. It was an absolutely amazing experience to commit to one another in such a public way and still have it feel so intimate. It was amazing. What things do you feel were the most memorable moments during the day? Sarah doing yoga in the morning in the spot where they were to get married. Walking through the spiral. Sharing our vows. The cab ride to the ceremony while we were leaning out the window. Dancing the Horah. Taking pictures in our house, just the two of us. Any advice to other brides? Focus on the ceremony. We loved using it as an opportunity to really talk about what we hoped for and were excited (and not so excited) to work for in our marriage. We were so glad we put time and thought into the ceremony. Remember to take deep breaths through the day and take it in. It is really easy to get separated because there are a lot of people that want to talk to you. We decided to make sure that we were together the whole night. It sounds so simple, but it really made a big difference. Notice what is going on around you. And breathe it all in.
