From the Bride: I was never one of those girls that was dreaming of her wedding since the age of 5. When Michael and I got engaged I knew I wanted to plan everything but wasn't sure where to start. I was reading through something and saw the color palette of yellow and gray and I was instantly hooked. Once I walked into Mile High Station it combined that elegant feeling I was looking for along with the old school Chicago look I wanted. I knew that it was the perfect place to get married and immediately began envisioning all the ways to bring gray and yellow into the space. I think I took that and the color scheme and ran with it. I wanted to make sure that my girls were comfortable in what they were wearing so I sent them paint chips with five shade of gray and three shades of yellow and told them to find a dress that they love that was as close as possible to one of the grays. The yellows were for the shoes and any accessories they might have wanted. Since Michael and I are "M&M" we knew early on that a candy bar was the perfect thing for our wedding. Plus there were going to be so many kiddos that we wanted to be sure it was a fun wedding. We built our candy bar around the yellow and gray M&M's and from what we've heard it was a big hit. With so many kids at the wedding we wanted to make sure that they knew we wanted them there, that they were important to us and that it was fun for them. I adored our kids tables, there was so much stuff for them (glow sticks, stickers, crayons, home made place mats and candy strewn around) I think my favorite component of the decor was the thank you cards that I found on Etsy. There were so many people at our wedding and I knew it was going to be hard to find the time to thank everyone for coming so I began searching for something that we could put at each seat. These cards were heartfelt and really let everyone know how much we appreciated them, I loved the personal touch that they left at each seat. [gallery size="large" gallery columns="1"]
