I have a major crush on this nursery. I'm sending it a box of "be mine" candy hearts and a semi-stalker-ish Valentine's card. Chevron prints and yellow & grey are pretty much America's sweethearts; no one can resist. Add metallic gold as the hottest accent right now, and these thrifted antique mirrors and moroccan poof footrest bring the sparkle. But the perfectly dreamy "Water Drops" Benjamin Moore paint color on the walls, the curated mix of vintage, modern, and DIY furnishings, and the unexpectedly chic take on a penguin theme catapult this nursery from girl-next-door, into style star status.x

When I was first dreaming up Adalie's nursery, I really wanted to create a relaxing and feminine space for her. I picked some of my favorite colors Aqua, Grey, Yellow & Metallic Gold to start with. The penguin theme came into play because originally we were going to spell Adalie's name with an e like "Adelie" which is also a type of penguin. We recently changed the way we will spell her name because we know people would mispronounce the name. (Add-uh-lee) is how we will pronounce it. The meaning of Adalie is "God is my refuge; noble one", so it's pretty perfect for our baby girl.
I started with a collection of vintage, thrifted gold mirrors I had been storing. I didn't know why I was collecting them, but now I'm glad I did. I added a crib with chevron and clean lines to make the nursery more modern in contrast to the vintage mirrors. I think the mix of modern and vintage came together really well in her room and created a perfect balance. To keep my mind off the wait in my last few weeks of pregnancy, I have worked on a lot of DIY crafts for her room. The ribbon mobile and love pillow were both things I wanted to buy on Etsy and ended up making myself instead. I can't wait to bring Adalie home and spend a lot of time with her in this nursery!
