The 12th annual Doors Open Denver, the premier event showcasing the richness and history of Denvers built environment, will take place on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24. Presented by the Denver Architectural Foundation, the event highlights nearly 70 of Denvers unique spaces and offers 44 Insider Tours. The event will be headquartered at the iconic Denver Union Station and feature Denver structures that include high-profile, historic and artistic feats of architecture and design. Architecture and design are key elements in the form, function and aesthetics of our community. Doors Open Denver extends this value and aims for event participants to observe and engage with the built environment through an artistic and cultural lens, said Pauline Herrera Serianni, executive director of the Denver Architectural Foundation.

Twelve new buildings join the participating site list, including the newly restored Airedale Building (pictured below), the exemplary ART, a Hotel (pictured above), and Youth on Record, the community-centered music education center. Reappearing Denver icons on the list include Ellie Caulkins Opera House, the Equitable Building and the Sugar Building. These sites are part of the list of 69 sites that are free to explore. Doors Open Denver also offers ticketed Insider Tours that provide engaging opportunities to hear directly from experts about Denver structures and locales significant to our citys history, development, design and future. Tours of the sites are lead by architects, landscape architects, historians and urban enthusiasts. Seventeen of the 44 Insider Tours are new to Doors Open Denver. This year, with the support of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Doors Open Denver is excited to offer arts and culture activities at multiple participating Doors Open Denver sites and other Denver locations. These activities include Grannie does Graffiti Art Pop-Up on the Clyfford Still Museum lawn, a Botanic Gardens Conservatory-inspired fashion exhibition, architecturally-inspired silk screening on tote bags and more.
