Dunton Hot Springs has been at the top of my lists of Colorado getaways for some time now. Photographer Sarah Box and her husband recently ventured down to Dunton Hot Springs and we are lucky that she has share her experience with us. Notes from Sarah: My husband and I were lucky enough to escape to the magical mountain town of Dunton Hot Springs. With no cell phone coverage, it was truly an escape and time for relaxation and rejuvenation. I could not have imagined a more idyllic setting- nestled in the San Juan mountains, this restored ghost town offered us plenty of time for soaking in the hot springs, star gazing, hiking, picnicing, and photo taking. And outdoor showering too was a new experience! Another bonus to our trip was the community of other guests we had the pleasure of dining with. As each day came to a close, we all gathered in the saloon to share a meal, swap stories, and form new friendships.

Just across the mountain from Telluride, Dunton Hot Springs Resort is a romantic ghost town, set in an extraordinary alpine valley. Cresto Ranch is its newest addition just 4 miles downriver and hosts 8 luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms. The resort offers a variety of day and overnight packages, and the entire town or ranch can be rented exclusively for corporate retreats, family reunions and weddings.
