Arts Brookfield, the global arts and events program of commercial real estate corporation Brookfield, presents Dimensionality I: New Works by Stan Meyer, a free exhibition at 1801 California. The opening reception for the exhibition will take place Thursday, Feb. 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 1801 California St. and is open to the public. Inspired by elements of Celtic design, the featured works are formidable in size. With delicate, interlacing shapes and luminous metallic and jewel-like colors, the pieces, which were created specifically for the 1801 California exhibition, demonstrate Meyers mastery of his career-long expression of geometry. A major component of my works has always been the fluid interlacing of elements that are reflected in the over-under weave of my work. By adding painterly colors, surface textures and interlocking shapes, I make objects that create a grand gesture in their entirety, said Meyer. Meyer is one of the first artists to use flat weave as a technique for creating contemporary art that is both intellectually and spiritually stimulating. Visitors will experience eight colorful large-scale 3-D artworks at Dimensionality I. The show runs from February 10 through March 24 and is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dimensionality I is the first in a paired showing of established Colorado artists who create work that is 3D in nature but constructed in a 2D manner.Dimensionality II: New Works by Jeff Richards, begins at 1801 California on March 30.
