When dining out, I look for restaurants that offer something unique whether it is their hip atmosphere, creative food pairings, or to-die-for desserts. Zengo has been a long time favorite of mine for their fusion of Asian and Latin cuisines.
I just recently paid a visit to Zengo to try out their new Test Kitchen Menu featuring cuisine from Indonesia & Argentina. Menu is an array of specialty small plates and cocktails that showcase the flavors and techniques from each region. The featured new dishes are marked with a special �TK� symbol on the menu, noting that they are exclusive and available for a limited time through June 30
A few highlights of the menu include:
- Stuffed Crispy Tofu ($9) - chorizo/ shrimp/ carrot/bean sprout/ sweet soy dipping sauce *even the biggest meat lovers will find this tofu dish absolutely delicious ....... pictured below bottom right
- Indonesian Style Chile Crab Cakes ($14) Lump Blue Crab/ Cucumber Salad/ Lemon/ Tomato/ chile crab sauce *my favorite.....pictured above
- Beef Tongue Escabeche ($12) Pickled bell pepper/ Garlic/ Olive oil/ hard boiled egg/ cilantro *pictured below top right
- Argentinian Parillada Mixed Grill for two ($49) hanger steak/ sweet chorizo/ blood sausage/ grilled chicken breast/ black truffle chimichurri
- Smoked Ginger - Jengibre Ahumado ($13) Rye Whiskey, Ginger & Honey Syrup, Apricot Brandy, Lemon Juice and Ginger Beer *refreshing. perfect for a warm night on the patio..... pictured below
- Tucuman ($13) - Gin, Apricot Brandy, Sweet Vermouth, Blood Orange Bitters
