Notes from the photographer, Joshua McDonald:
How much can I say about this wedding? How much can I say about these two wonderful people or their families? Its sincerely difficult to always find the correct words when you are just simply blown away by people. Whether it be their actions, words, or a simple gesture, these two and their family have captured this photographers heart. Our photographic journey originally started this winter when Devon & Phoenix wanted to have their engagement session. Seeing that theyre complete outdoorsy folks who love traveling, hiking, camping, and doing insane things like freezing. I didnt think much of it. Their engagement session started off beautiful in Golden, then up the mountains we went. I thought we were heading straight to Breckenridge but I assumed wrong. FIRST! We had to stop up at Loveland Pass It was very very windy and cold. But we did it, it was probably -5 with 50 mph winds. My fingers felt as if they were going to fall off! Haha, well we headed towards Breck to find the perfect location, we photographed in town, outside of town, up from the town, etc It was a blast, their photographs turned out absolutely beautiful. How could they not? Have you seen these two? Not to mention theyre #headoverheals in love with each other!
So, when it came time for their wedding I didnt expect anything less then something out of the way, remote and difficult to get to. They said, Alta Lakes Who would have thought it was at the top of a mountain hovering over 11,000 feet? So, imagine my surprise when I 4wheeled all the way up a mountain, over some hills, rocks, more rocks, to this absolutely beautiful and to die for location? It was worth it. Breathing might have been difficult, so of course, they had oxygen for anyone that needed it! Im stubborn so I went without.
Their family was fantastic, helped out in every way possible, made sure that everything was taken care of. What a family! I would have to say thats the very definition of love & support. I loved every second of the day with these two and their family. There was never a dull moment and #geegolly it was beautiful! At one point, I even saw a plane fly by at eye level which was weird to experience. I think I was even higher then the plane.
Did I mention that they DIYd pretty much everything? Phoenixs bouquet included a piece from her brothers wedding, which was her something borrowed. The day was classy, elegant, fun, full of love and care. There may have been an explosion I cant really say Oh and did I mention there was beer? Lots of it, how could we expect anything less from someone like Devon? He is, after all, a beer connoisseur.
I love love #loved this entire day, these people, and everything that they stand for. This Denver Wedding Photographer had an absolute blast and was grateful to be apart of it. I look forward to hopefully many more weddings with this family Lots of brothers & sisters Congratulations again you two! I hope you love the photos!
