I have a ton of respect for mommas who leave the gender of their bump a surprise until D-Day. I was positively itching with anticipation to confirm what I thought I knew, and sure enough, I was Team Pink. As for Mom-to-be Kristen Abell, she wanted to keep the surprise alive, so she nicknamed baby Abell "Babell" from the beginning (I can't get over how cute this is). She was showered at her home in West Wash Park by a fab team of childhood girlfriend hostesses: Katy Hebert (Denver), Casidy McNally (Denver), Katie Lieber (Chicago), Courtney Bowline (Dallas), and Gentry Moore (Dallas). As for the shower theme, the ladies went with "Mustache or Bow? No one knows!" J'adorable. [gallery size=large gallery order="DESC" columns="1"]

Styling + Paper Goods by Me Oh My Design

From stylist + designer Casidy: Since we didn't know the gender of Baby Abell we wanted to come up with a fun and cute theme a little different than grey and yellow. We used mustaches + bows as our starting point and created the shower around that. We kept the color scheme mostly neutral (whites and greys) but added in the color pop through the blue and pink mustache and bow details- straws, food cards, etc. Instead of playing traditional shower games, we wanted to leave Baby Abell with warm wishes; a cool and unique keepsake for the parents and for the child as he/she grows up. Favors sometimes get tricky but we didn't want the guests to leave empty handed. So, we kept within our theme and made little stickers saying "Kristen's about to pop" that were stuck onto bags full of sweet kettle corn.
